Room-sharing is not the same as bed-sharing: the baby has their own cot or bassinet beside the bed. Major safe-sleep bodies recommend it for roughly the first 6–12 months. Keep the surface clear of pillows, bumpers and loose bedding.
Glossary
Room-sharing
Room-sharing means a baby sleeps on their own separate, firm, flat surface in the parents' room — recommended for at least the first 6 months to lower the risk of SIDS.
