Cocoon's guides are written and edited by our in-house editorial team, who specialise in calm, plain-language parenting information. We are writers and editors — not your child's clinicians — so every guide is framed as general information to inform a conversation with a health professional, never as a diagnosis or a substitute for one.
We research each guide from reputable, publicly accountable sources — the American Academy of Pediatrics (HealthyChildren.org), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, the UK National Health Service, and Australia's Raising Children Network and Red Nose — and we cite them on the page so you can check the original. Where reputable bodies differ, we say so rather than picking a side.
We write to inform, never to alarm. Ranges are presented as ranges, safe-sleep and feeding advice follows current consensus guidance, and every health guide points you back to your doctor or child-health nurse for anything specific to your baby. Guides are dated and updated as guidance changes. Clinical review by named professionals is being rolled out across the library; until a guide has been reviewed, it is clearly marked 'clinical review pending'.
